Coupons History and Facts-Restaurant Coupons Grocery Coupons

Chicago - $25 Gift Certificates for $10

Coupons have always facinated me. Back when I was a stay at home mom I spent about 1-2 hours a week clipping coupons. Recently, after not clipping coupons for a long time, I tried looking through my local paper for coupons and I have found things have changed drastically. Back when I used coupons the grocery store had double coupons and occasionally triple coupons. I could regularly get items for free or close to free and I would save more than half the bill. One time I had a bill of over 100 dollars but paid only about 30.00 dollars. But without the incentive of doubleling the coupon it just doesn't seem worth it. Now, I use coupons for eating out. Those are worth it and with the introduction of the internet it is getting easier and easier to use. Time is money so the time to savings ratio with restaurant coupons makes it very worthwhile. In todays world of families rushing about. Grocery coupons are not as time friendly anymore.

Taco Bell Complaints-Restaurant Complaint Board

Taco Bell (Hell) Complaints

We hear that Taco Bell by far has the most complaints of any fast food restaurants. I live near a Taco Bell that we just won't visit anymore. People fear their drive thru. They look at the enter sign like it says "beware of dog". Actually it should say beware of 30 minute or long waits.
I was at said Taco Bell just a few months ago and there was an accident from someone trying to back out of the drive-through because they were stuck in there for a long time. Everyone I have talked to says it takes 20-30 minutes in the drive through and because it is the "old style" where there is no where to run, you are trapped. After 20 minutes I longingly wish for Friday rush hour traffic: at least traffic moves occasionally. I have considered going up the curb and driving on the grass several times, damage to my car be damned. I have since learned to avoid going the drive through at all costs or at least bring my copy of war and peace.

So, I figured I take dining room route. But then I found quickly realized that at least I got to sit when waiting in my car. The last straw was when I went to the front counter and there was trash all over the front counter and it took them 10 minutes just to get someone up there to take my order. Then my son in law said that he and his friends got food poisoning from that restaurant. We just don't take our chances anymore.
Well, they have earned themselves a hall of shame Taco Bell Complaints board in our forums. Please let others know about your worst experiences and by all means, if you find a good Taco Bell please let us know too!

Subway's Biggest Loser. 10 years later!

Source Washington Post

He's known simply by his first name -- Jared -- and his claim to fame is being a loser, in fact a super-loser.

Tuesday, April 1, 1 p.m. ET: Lean Plate Club
Meet Jared Fogle, who, as a college junior, shed a whopping 245 pounds on a self-devised diet of Subway sandwiches and became a spokesman for the fast-food chain in the process.

Now he has reached another milestone: maintaining that weight loss for 10 years.

With a rising obesity epidemic, the number of people who need to shed triple-digit pounds is also increasing. A growing number try to meet that goal surgically with stomach stapling or gastric bypass. That makes Jared's accomplishment all the more important.

"It's fantastic that he's done this, because weight-loss surgery is taking on such emphasis," says Brown University psychologist Rena Wing, co-founder of the National Weight Control Registry, a group of 6,300 "successful losers" who have shed at least 30 pounds and kept it off for at least a year.

Come Hungry, Leave. . . Empty? Restaurant Food Portions in Decline

New Tactics Restaurants are Using are magic tricks.

Stop Wasting Money on Ink! Click here.

We found a Washington Post Article stating that restaurants are now using tricks to help them trim portions because of the economy. These chefs are getting skillful.

A Couple of excerpts-

And many restaurants are putting the great American portion -- a monstrosity by the standards of international cuisine -- on a diet, as surreptitiously as possible. Lots of restaurants are buying smaller plates to make the reduced servings look just as large, or lighter silverware so that even if there are fewer bites per serving, each bite feels heavier than usual on the fork. A la carte portions of high-priced dishes -- steaks, for example -- are getting pared back and surrounded by low-cost starches and vegetables.

We've advised a lot of clients to switch from an eight-ounce filet to two three-ounce filets," says Rastelli Foods owner Ray Rastelli, who sells to 6,000 restaurants in the New Jersey, New York and Delaware area. "They reduce their cost by 25 percent and they change the plate presentation, adding some strategically placed accouterments. It looks like more food and it actually costs less."

Restaurants have now resorted to trickery. Very interesting reading. We would definitely recommend the article. And we will continue to strive to saving money for you.

Restaurant Tipping Etiquette Guide

For flowers and gifts, shop GiftTree!

As the mother of a dog Groomer, I understand the importance of tipping. I have found that today's generation is not as accustomed to tipping as their parents. I think many people do not understand that some workers rely heavily on tips to make a fair and honest wage. If they did not get tips, they would make less than minimum wage. It is never a good idea to "save money" by not tipping. Here is a guide to tipping.

Airport baggage handlers: $1 per bag, more for heavier bags.

Bartender: $1 to $2 per drink is customary, or 15 to 20 percent if you run a tab.

Beauty: In a salon, tip 15 to 20 percent for haircuts, nail care, facials, waxing, etc. Shampooers should get $2 to $5.

Cabs: For fares less than $10, $1 to $3. More than $10, 10 percent.

Coffee shops: Most people will tip up to $1.00 per beverage.

Delivery people: 15%-20% should be given.

Dining: A 15- to 20-percent tip and the tip should be on the pre-tax pre coupon total. rom everything we have read, you should not omit the tip if given less than satisfactory service. The tip should be decreased so it is known that you are displeased.

Pet Groomers-15%-20%

Dry Cleaner: Tipping generally isn't required.

Fast food: No tipping required so far.

Hotels: At least $1 or $2 per bag for the bellhop when you arrive and when you leave, and $2 to $3 a night for the hotel maid (just leave the cash daily in your room). a couple of dollars for a doorman hailing a cab for you.

Massage therapist: 15 %.

Parking: $1 for someone who retrieves your car in a daily parking garage. A valet should be tipped $2 to $3

How To Complain in a Restaurant. Restaurant Complaint.

How to Complain in a Restaurant
from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

UNICEF cards and gifts.ORDER today and help UNICEF help children

An easy to follow guide to complaining in a restaurant that won't leave you blushing or raging. This article describes the correct etiquette involved in making a complaint in a restaurant.

Steps

  1. Act immediately. The key to successful complaining is to highlight the problem immediately, thereby giving the restaurant the opportunity to resolve the problem with minimum fuss - don't wait until you've eaten half of an inedible meal, or for the bill to arrive, to voice an objection.
  2. Remain calm and objective. You are less likely to get what you want by being rude or aggressive with a waiter. Discreetly call them over, explain the problem, express your disappointment and ask them to resolve the situation.
  3. Suggest a resolution that matches your complaint. Would an apology be enough? Would you like your food replaced? Or do you expect money off the bill? If a meal you have ordered is well cooked and served as described on the menu but you just don't like it, it's unreasonable to demand compensation. However, if you ask politely, many restaurants will be happy to offer you an alternative. If there is a hygiene issue, you are unlikely to want a replacement meal and would probably just like to leave without being charged.
  4. Take it to the next level. If your concerns are not met with an acceptable resolution, ask politely to speak to the manager. Explain the problem and state that you are not satisfied with how it has been resolved.
  5. Reduce the tip. If other options proved fruitless, reducing the tip, or not leaving one at all, is a powerful way of expressing your displeasure. Please try to differentiate between a problem with the waiter and the restaurant. If the food was of a low standard but the waiter did a good job of addressing your complaint by giving you a discount or complimentary dish or promptly alerting management to the problem, then a tip is still appropriate. If your server is trying to do everything for you please recognize this fact. The management are the one who do all the discounting from checks so don't take anger out on wait staff.
  6. Tell your Friends! spread the news that restaurant lacks. (Our forums)This will prevent others from making the same mistake and hopefully indirectly effect how the establisment is run.
  7. Seek outside help. If after complaining to the waiter and the manager you still feel like you have been fobbed off, it's time to take your complaints to a higher authority. Contact your local consumer standards body for advice. In the UK, for example, you can try the Citizen's Advice Bureau or the Office of Fair Trading. In the US, contact your local Better Business Bureau office.
  8. Immediately report any illness. If, once you've left a restaurant, you become ill from food poisoning that you believe can be traced back to the restaurant, you should immediately report it to the restaurant first. Some municipalities require establishments to report any complaints involving more than one individual eating the same dish on the same day. You should then report it to the local health department or food standards agency if you are not satisfied that they are taking your report seriously and doing their own thorough internal investigation. This is for everyone else's benefit, as well as your own.

Tips

  • Be assertive. Don't be shy - you're paying for a meal to be cooked properly and to be waited on efficiently and politely. If this isn't your experience, then you are well within your rights to complain.
  • Compliment. As important as it is to complain if something has gone wrong during a meal, it's equally important to compliment and reward good or exceptional service. Whether it's good or bad, feedback is often appreciated by managers as it offers them a real insight to the service they are providing, so speak up and enjoy your meal.
  • Consider who is the cause of the problem. When complaining about a long wait for food, remember it is likely the kitchen's problem, not the waiter, and the waiter is probably going triple time to make everyone happy.
  • Complaining loudly will only disrupt everyone else's experience. Your issue is with the restaurant, not the other patrons.
  • Those who wish to insult the wait staff believe it's better to leave a small tip than no tip -- no tip suggests that you may have forgotten to tip, but a penny for a tip lets them know that it wasn't an accident.
  • NEVER enter the kitchen to complain (or compliment for that matter). Remember that it is the kitchen's job to provide you with beautiful food, not be polite to you. If you wish to speak to the chef ask your server, and the chef will come to your table when they have time. However, it is usually better to direct any comments to your server or the front of house manager.

Warnings

  • Alert the waiter to allergies and dislikes. There are often ingredients guides on menus but to avoid problems it is worth telling the waiter of any allergies or aversions to particular ingredients while you're ordering. If any of the stated ingredients are then present in your meal, you should complain and send it back immediately.
  • Leaving a lower tip can guarantee you bad service if you return to the restaurant, even if you get a different server. Make it clear to the manager or front of house regarding the service so there is an opportunity to resolve the problem before you return again. However, if you never plan on returning--if the service was that terrible--then not leaving a tip will be the most powerful message you can send to the server, if it was really their fault.
  • Remember this before you decide to be rude to the waiter: The waiters communicate with the cooks, who are in complete control of preparing your food. If you are rude to a waiter who is having a bad day, you may get a nasty surprise with your order. As gross as it sounds, it is a lot more common than you would think when people are rude to the wait staff.
  • Once you have registered your complaint, make ready to leave. There is little point continuing to eat food prepared by somebody you have just criticised (think about it).

Restaurant Reviews Aurora, CO

Armando's Ristorante & Pizzeria in Aurora,Co

If you live in Denver, Colorado or are just passing through, this is the place to eat, relax, and have fun!

At first, it is easy to overlook the small building nestled in the shopping center containing the local Dairy Queen and 7-Eleven. I myself only noticed the place four years ago after hearing about it from friends and neighbors, even though I have lived in the Aurora nearly five times longer. Yet in all of my life I have never visited a restaurant as great as Armando's.

The food is absolutely delicious. You have your choice of a wide range of real, gourmet pastas, starting with the simplest (but no less delicious) homeade spaghetti. Their homeade spaghetti is my personal favorite and the most popular dish at the restaurant. Or you can go another route and order their Neopolitan pizza featuring an array of toppings. Never have I tasted a pizza that comes close to its succulence. Or you can select any of the many other choices on the menu, all straight from the heart of Napoli. And how do you cap an excellent meal? With their homeade Tiramisu of course! So wonderful that you cannot refuse to eat it even after filling yourself up on the first course.

Rest assured that your food will also come with great service and an excellent atmosphere. The place is small, but busy (so go early in the evening, especially on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). However the staff is determined to serve you your food as quickly as possible and make sure you enjoy your meal. And they could not be friendlier! The place is run by Armando, his wife, and his two daughters. They welcome you into the restaurant like family and treat you as such. I often stay long after my meal is done just to talk with the servers.

I have been going to Armando's almost every week for four years and have never been disappointed. Yet this is the kind of place that you wonder why you never heard about it earlier. You wish you could have back all those missed opportunities to enjoy a meal there. I for one will continue to enjoy it as much as possible. You should too. Here is its location:

16611 E Smoky Hill Rd
Aurora, CO 80015
Phone: (303) 690-6660

They also opened a restaurant in Parker recently. Now there are two places to enjoy Armando's food! Here is its location:

9964 S Twenty Mile Rd
Parker, CO 80134
Phone: (720) 851-6770

Go, eat, and enjoy!
